Neil Young

Neil Young stands out as a paragon of artistic integrity, no small feat in a business as dirty as the music industry. He managed to minimize the inevitable compromises that ruin many a budding musician and remained true to his artistic vision. Even when I run across a song I don’t particularly care for, I always find his work interesting and fundamentally honest.

I waited far too long to begin my exploration of his catalog, in large part because I was put off by his connection to Crosby, Stills and Nash. It would take up pretty much the rest of my lifespan to cover all forty-five studio albums and twelve live albums, but if I decide to come back after my world tour, it’s more than likely that I will spend some time in the ditch.
